Albert is a second in command for agency owners. Each morning it reads the work tools your company connects and writes you a short debrief. Task Engine makes and runs Albert. This page says what Albert collects, why, who helps us run it, and what you can ask of us.
Who we are
Task Engine, operated by Andrei Maguleanu, Romania. For anything about your data, write to albert@taskengine.xyz.
For your Albert account, Task Engine decides how your data is used. For what Albert reads from your company's tools, your company decides, and we handle it on your company's behalf. If your company has signed a data processing agreement with Task Engine, that agreement applies too, and it wins where the two differ.
What Albert collects
- Your account. Your name, your work email and the name you'd like Albert to call you. When you sign in with Google, Google confirms your email address to us. We never see your password.
- Your setup. What you tell Albert when you set it up or in Settings: your clients and their goals, how you work, and how and when you want your morning debrief.
- What Albert reads from your tools. Only from the tools you connect, and only what the debrief needs: today's calendar events, recent mail waiting for your answer and mail you sent, tasks, projects, due dates, comments, notes and time entries. Albert only reads. It never changes, sends or deletes anything in your tools.
- Your debriefs. Each debrief Albert writes, kept with what it read to write it, so every line shows where it came from.
- A log of actions. Who did what in Albert and when, such as connecting a tool or writing a debrief. Nobody can edit or delete it from the app.
- Cookies. One keeps you signed in, one lasts about ten minutes while you sign in, and one remembers light or dark mode if you choose one in Settings. No analytics or advertising cookies.
How Albert uses it
Only to run Albert for your company: to write your morning debrief, show it to you in the app, and email it to you if you chose email. We don't sell your data, use it for advertising or use it to train AI models. Albert describes the work and never scores, ranks or rates the people on your team.
We rely on our agreement with your company to run Albert. We keep the log of actions because we have a legitimate interest in keeping Albert secure.
Google user data
When you sign in with Google, Albert receives your name, your email address and whether Google has verified it, and keeps only your email address and name.
If you connect Google Calendar and Gmail, Albert reads them through a private Albert app that your company makes in its own Google account, with read-only access. From Calendar it reads today's events: their time, title, description, place and who is invited. From Gmail it reads, for conversations from the last ten days that wait for your answer and for mail you sent in the last seven days, only the sender, recipients, subject, date and Gmail's short preview of each message. It never reads attachments, and never sends, changes or deletes mail or events. What it reads is used only to write your morning debrief, and is kept with that debrief.
Albert's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Who helps us run Albert
These companies handle data for us, each only for the job named here:
- Neon: the database, in Frankfurt, Germany.
- Vercel: runs the app, on servers in Frankfurt, Germany.
- WorkOS: a backup route for signing in; normally Google sign-in goes straight to Google.
- Nango: keeps the logins to the tools you connect and passes Albert's read requests to them.
- Anthropic: Claude, the AI model that writes your debrief from what Albert read.
- Google Workspace: sends your morning debrief by email, if you choose email.
Some of these companies are based in the United States, so some data can be handled outside the European Union. Each one works for us under its own data processing terms.
How long we keep it
While your company uses Albert. When your company stops, we delete its data. You can ask us to delete yours sooner. If your company has a data processing agreement with us, its retention periods apply.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it. Write to albert@taskengine.xyz and we'll answer within one month. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can file a complaint with Romania's data protection authority, ANSPDCP (dataprotection.ro), or with the data protection authority where you live.
If you work at a company that uses Albert, your company chose which tools Albert reads. Ask your company first, or write to us.
Security
Each company's data sits in its own walled-off part of the database, so one company can never see another's. Everything travels encrypted. The logins to your tools are kept by Nango, not in Albert's database. Task Engine looks at a company's data only to run Albert for it or to fix a problem.
Changes
When this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects you, we tell you in Albert or by email before it applies.
